I started my career in retail and progressed as a management trainee within familiar high street brands. Exploring a need for change, I side-stepped into a role with a school, supporting autistic children.

This encouraged me to explore counselling. I studied at Lincoln College, graduating with a Level 5 certificate in counselling, followed by a diploma in clinical hypnotherapy from Ridgeway College.

I launched Active Listening Therapies in 2017 and am now joint-managing director. I work with young people in schools and clients privately. Outside of work you’ll find me in the kitchen developing my vegetarian cooking recipes, in the garden, or crafting in my workshop.

Following my GCSE’s at the Magnus, I went to college in Nottingham, then completed a degree in Cardiff. I then spent several years working in the event industry throughout the world from multi-national conferences, product launches and sporting events.

Having returned to Newark in my mid-20’s, I knew I needed a career that stimulated me more. I found Ridgeway College in Lincoln and completed an advanced diploma in counselling. I have since completed a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and a counselling tutor diploma.

As a director of Active Listening Therapies I work with young people in schools and private clients of all ages. I also teach counselling students as they develop on their educational journey. When not working in schools, counselling or teaching you’ll find me in my craft shed painting historical space scenes.
