Covid Safe Working Practices at Active Listening Therapies
Active Listening Therapies is a privately owned company which we have developed and nurtured since 2017. The business is our sole livelihood and such, we take the care of our clients, how we practice and how best to manage the current circumstances very seriously.
While the easing of restrictions allows us to see clients without face masks, we are mindful that some people prefer – and like the assurance of wearing one; we respect that. Please don’t be put off wearing a mask should you wish and don’t be afraid to ask us to wear a mask if that is what you’d prefer.
We like to keep 30 minutes between the conclusion of one session and the start of another, this allows us time sanitise before your arrival. Hand sanitiser is available in the consulting room and in the communal areas. Toilet facilities are still available for clients and accompanying individuals.
During your first session we usually contract with a client; this sounds complicated and official, and in some ways, it is, but it isn’t anything to be concerned about. It’s important to establish what you require from us and what your expectations are; we’ll go through medical and contact information too – at this point we’ll ask if you have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
If you – or anyone in your close network – experience any symptoms of Covid-19, or any other condition that may affect others we ask that you let us know as soon as you are aware. If you cancel for genuine medical reason, we will not charge you for the session. However, if you present and we need stop the session part-way through you may be charged the full session rate.
Should we experience any symptoms that necessitate closing the practice, we will contact you to postpone the session and rearrange. In this instance you will not be charged any cancellations fees.
Counselling is a very personal experience, and we work hard to ensure an open, boundary free, yet confidential relationship with all clients. With this in mind, we encourage you to keep in touch to ensure that your emotional wellbeing and mental health is not interrupted by circumstances out of everyone’s control.
Active listening Therapies continues to provide counselling and wellbeing support to young people and adults who require one-to-one talking therapy, family mediation and peer support in Newark on Trent and the surrounding areas.
